Breast feeding

Question:
Is there any incompatibility between diving and breastfeeding. Although I don't think there is a direct effect (since there is no gas chamber in the breast), maybe there is a secondary effect on the milk production or quality? Should a woman that breastfeeds avoid to dive in cold water?

Answer:
There is non known interaction with diving, the only potential side effect, but this is more theoretical than real, is that a compression of the breasts from a wet-suit of a pre-pregnancy size, may induce an arrest of milk production (tight breast bandaging was a common method to stop milk production in the old times), but it should be considered that the time a wet suit is worn is generally short and it would not be, very likely, enough to induce any effect on lactation.
