Roseto degli Abruzzi, 09 May 2016 - The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has chosen DAN Europe as its first-aid partner and basic life-support defibrillation.
Thanks to this partnership, football coaches working with amateur clubs and youth will be trained and qualified in first-aid, reducing the chances of illnesses and casualties.
A few weeks after the launch last month, 30 first-aid courses were organised, seeing 230 qualified instructors. These numbers are expected to grow significantly by end of year.
"We have worked with a lot of important companies during the years, including health workers, police and rescue teams. We are now excited about this opportunity to work with FIGC. Being entrusted by such a prestigious Italian sports organisation confirms the quality of our courses" said Prof. Alessandro Marroni, President of DAN Europe.
The training programme offers a basic outline in anatomy and physiology, verification of states of consciousness, goes into how to execute CPR and how to react in case of sudden cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, the module on defibrillator includes legal considerations and maintenance rules. Providers are also trained on how to manoeuvre unblocking and how to intervene in case of external bleeding.
