DAN's Charity Fund Receives Donation at 2015 TAUCHEN Awards

For immediate release

Düsseldorf, January 23rd, 2015 - The Claudius Obermaier Fund has received a 3.300 Euro donation at the 2015 TAUCHEN Awards , yesterday night in Düsseldorf. The TAUCHEN Awards are traditionally organised during the BOOT Messe by TAUCHEN, one of Europe's best-selling dive magazine. The event awards with a bronze dolphin trophee the most successful companies and personalities of the diving industry, according to the opinions and votes of the dive magazine readers. Every year, part of the entrance fees are also donated to a charity or special project.

During the event, participants were shown a premiere of the brand new video promoting the Obermaier Fund activities: a touching collection of voices from the international diving community.

DAN Europe expresses their thanks to TAUCHEN magazine for this precious donation. We hope this will stimulate donations across the diving community, raising even more funds, with the ultimate goal of helping those divers who need it the most.

About the Claudius Obermaier Fund

The Claudius Obermaier Fund was created in 2004 by DAN Europe, in collaboration with the family of Claudius Obermaier, a young German diver who died during a technical dive. When needed, the fund steps in to help those who have directly or indirectly been in a diving related accident. To date, the Fund has donated nearly 200.000 Euros to help divers and their families in difficulty. In particular, the Fund has financed: special medical care, medical evacuation following serious accidents, prosthesis, special means of transport for tetraplegic, school grants for orphans of deceased divers. Anyone can get involved, by making a donation or by notifying DAN of a situation requiring help.
