Prof. Marroni, President and Founder of DAN Europe, has recently been honoured with the 2014 Golden Trident award. The ceremony tool place last Sept. 27th, at the Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, Italy. The award recognises the significant and lasting contribution that Prof. Marroni has given to diving safety, education and research.

The Golden Trident was founded in 1960 and is considered a sort of Nobel prize for underwater activities. Since then,190 people have been awarded, among whom: Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Walt Disney, Folco Quilici, Jacques Piccard, Enzo Maiorca, plus scientists, researchers, pioneers, journalists and professors.
